ABOUT US

No distractions – except for the tugs on your line.

Lee Anderson invites to experience a truly special place.  The Outpost, a rustic fishing lodge, is nestled on Brennan Lake in Ontario, Canada, about 200 miles north of the border and 90 miles east of Sioux Lookout, the nearest town.  A fully-staffed north woods haven, it has all the luxuries of home with none of the cares and responsibilities. We'll see to your every need as you embark on your adventure.  Fish to your heart's content and leave the cleaning to us, and at the end of the day, relax with cocktails, fine meals and good conversation.  Walk along the shore, shoot pool, toss horseshoes, play cards or gather round the fire.

You'll find a new appreciation for the term “fishing trip.”

Members of our staff have high spirits because they love to work here.  From the dock to the dining room, you'll be surrounded with people who know how to have a good time and more importantly, know how to show you one.  You may be fishing, but that's only the beginning.

The Dock Crew

On arrival, you'll be greeted by our dock crew who will bring the luggage to your cabin. The crew will take good care of you throughout your stay, setting up boats for departure each day with bait and fishing gear, packing coolers with whatever you like, and cleaning your boats and fish upon your return.

The Housekeeper

Each day, while guests are out fishing, the housekeeper cleans common areas, does laundry, cleans guest rooms, makes beds and provides fresh towels.

The Chef

Our outstanding chef will prepare all meals during your stay at the Outpost.  Please let us know if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions.

The Pilots

Our experienced bush pilots bring guests to and from camp safely and comfortably. They also perform fly-outs to neighboring lakes.

The Mechanics

The highly skilled mechanics at Sky Harbor Airport keep our aircrafts in excellent running condition while looking showroom new. The head mechanic has been working on the three aircrafts for more than 25 years.

The Owner

Lee R. Anderson, Sr.,  was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota., and attended the private Breck School, then in St. Paul.  A lifelong outdoorsman, he spent much of his boyhood at the family home in the Brainerd Lakes area north of the Twin Cities.  At the urging of his father, Reuben Anderson, a successful plumbing contractor, he enrolled at the United States Military Academy at West Point where he played football and basketball. After he graduated in 1961 with a B.S. in civil engineering, Anderson served in the U.S. Army at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, Arizona, where he oversaw materials procurement and construction services and was promoted to First Lieutenant.

In 1964, Anderson returned to the Twin Cities and took over A.P.I. Inc., an insulation contractor that was a division of his father's business. After he purchased an industrial fire sprinkler company in 1969, Anderson continued to acquire other firms, primarily in the construction and fire-protection fields. The growing conglomerate was renamed APi Group Inc. in 1997. On October 1, 2019, Anderson sold his interest in APi Group, Inc.

Anderson, an avid fisherman and hunter, is the funder of a conservation education program through the Boone and Crockett Club in the Montana Rockies.
